Having studied molecular biology, I worked in the prion research lab and helped develop robotic arms like this DDR (direct-drive robot) for the biotech industry in a Silicon Valley startup (Velocity11, which became a part of Agilent Technologies).

But two years ago I turned from the labs, pipettes and the robot testing bays to storytelling.

In 2011, I completed Master’s program in Journalism at the Columbia University Journalism School, interned at BBC, Axel Springer and American Public Media, and am now working on a documentary film series for the future Russian-Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center, which will open in Moscow, Russia, in November 2012.

When not researching, shooting, editing or writing a story, I enjoy Argentine tango dancing, learning languages and reading used books.
